XRP outperformed the broader crypto market on June 3, rallying to a high of $2.2833 following intense speculation surrounding the ongoing SEC vs. Ripple lawsuit. The sudden surge was fueled by social media buzz suggesting that Ripple, the SEC, and Judge Torres have agreed to a favorable settlement for Ripple, with an official announcement expected by June 13, 2025.
The rumor, shared by prominent XRP supporter The Real Remi Relief, claimed the agreement would remove restrictions on XRP sales to institutional investors and potentially reduce Ripple’s $125M penalty—massively bullish signals for XRP holders.
As rumors of settlement swirl, attention has shifted to a possible XRP-spot ETF approval by the SEC. According to Polymarket data, the probability of an XRP-spot ETF being approved by December 2025 stands at 93%, just slightly down from a 98% high on June 2.
XRP bulls point to Bitcoin’s 126% rally since the launch of BTC-spot ETFs in January 2024 as a sign of what’s possible. If the SEC drops its appeal against XRP’s programmatic sales ruling, XRP-spot ETFs could become a reality, unlocking significant institutional demand.
Legal experts remain divided. While some analysts suggest the rumors are “unconfirmed,” others believe an announcement is imminent. Former SEC lawyer Marc Fagel refuted the claim, but XRP investor optimism remains strong.
XRP advocate and attorney John E. Deaton recently shared confidence in altcoin ETF approvals, including XRP, SOL, and ETH, following Bitcoin’s regulatory breakthrough.
XRP closed at $2.2458 on June 3, up 2.19%. A break above $2.50 could trigger a move toward the May 12 high of $2.6553, and potentially challenge $3.00 and the record high of $3.5505.
However, a drop below $2.10 might lead to a retest of sub-$2 support levels.
While XRP climbed, Bitcoin (BTC) struggled to hold momentum. On June 3, BTC dipped 0.44%, closing at $105,436 amid renewed U.S.-China trade tensions and ETF outflows.
